It does not open the way it should, there is a bug there.

Set the theme back to default, but the startup issue remains with the dark theme.

I just downgraded to the previous version. The screenshot shows the bug and a new profile must be created. Setup is reset default and the bookmark is deleted.

Yeah, I tried to upgrade back to 88.0.1 as well, and got the same message. So I just whipped out my Macrium backup and took care of FF 89.0 entirely. Back to 88.0.1 for me.

Didn't ask me any of the first run stuff, just ran & updated fine. All my settings are good & still intact. One thing i'm not thrilled with is the double spacing or bigger "button size"...my bookmark list is way long now whereas it used to fit nicely on the page without the need to scroll up or down.

    Back to 89

Deleted Firefox 88.0.1 in Revo_Pro and restarted after. Clean the machine and re-install version 89.

Fonts and paging are brand new and it comes with a nice image. The same issue is present on startup with the light theme (default), but it boots faster.

Will stay there for now, downgrading does not help. Not really a big issue. Will see!

Well got most of it... FIXED

browser.proton.enabled -- [false] This is the main preference. It will be the main preference going forward, while most of the development related proton preferences will be removed at one point in time.

browser.aboutwelcome.design -- [false] The preference ensures that Firefox displays the new Welcome page for new users of the browser, provided that it has the value proton.

Now using the 3.2.0 version... Releases . Aris-t2/CustomCSSforFx . GitHub

...and to stop auto updates... still using the "distribution" folder and dropping it in: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

    distribution.7z

Still have to figure out how to change the "spacing" back.
Like someone mentioned above.... I have too many bookmarks for this.... 1st grader spacing. :/

I don't see any bookmarks on your pic. What am I missing?

On the Menu bar... I use the old fashioned "Bookmarks" , above the Refresh arrow icon.
I also removed the hamburger button, (at far right), just now.

I use the Aris-t2 Chrome folder, located here... Releases . Aris-t2/CustomCSSforFx . GitHub

Since FF 69, you have to edit about:config to make sure FF READS the userChrome.css file.
    Set this to True... toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets

userChrome.css is a text file in the Chrome folder. And you can edit it, by adding or removing the /* , from before each line. The /* , before the line, means it is NOT read.
You don't edit any other files in the Chrome folder. Just the userChrome.css file

Here's my edited version, which goes in this folder:
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profilefolder>

    Chrome.7z

    Other FF89 about:config settings....

    browser.proton.enabled ..false

    browser.aboutwelcome.design ..false

    browser.proton.contextmenus.enabled ..false (bookmarks spacing)
