How to Sync favorites in Edge ? must have tried almost everything !

I tried everything I can think off on my Surface and laptop, but the Edge favorites do not sync.

    - log out and in to my Microsoft account
    - switch sync off and on
    - switch all sync choices off and on
    - create new favorites
    - create favorites sub folder

Still no syncing for the last month or so.

    Now what ?

Have you checked to see that the Sync Setting is turned on in Edge browser settings (underneath your account) ?

Are you using the app or the Edge Beta? The Edge Beta allows you to log into your Microsoft account and sync everything through it.

You could try resetting the Edge browser in Settings/Apps/Microsoft Edge/Advanced settings. Try the Repair option first. If that doesn't work ..go for the Reset option

I am using "Microsoft Edge 44.18362.1.0"

Since a few days I am testing "Version 76.0.182.6 (Official build) dev (64-bit)" as well. No go either.

Edge Developer sync settings are in the actual browser settings not Windows Settings.

Ive just had another thought. It may be that your personal settings in the cloud are corrupted. You could try going into your Microsoft account on one of your devices and remove your personal settings from the cloud to give yourself a clean slate again. Be sure to turn off Syncing on all your devices first before removing your personal settings. Then get your Edge favourites exactly as you want them on your main device and turn on syncing on that device and allow it to sync to the cloud. When that device has synced to the cloud you can turn syncing back on on all your other devices and Edge favourites should be correctly synced across all devices. Follow the tutorial below for clear instructions

    Hi Sportsfan,

You nailed it, after repairing it on my laptop it started syncing between my Surface and laptop (both directions) within minutes.

    THANKS

I am aware of that, dev version still does not sync, but that is ok with me, as long as the released version does its thing I am one happy camper !

Sounds like a good last resort, but before that I would have tried the reset option you recommended

That's great to hear mate. Yeah, Always try repair first. If that doesn't sort it...next step is a reset. And if neither of those work....Ive removed all my personal settings from the cloud in the past. It just allows you to wipe all of your settings that you've synced between devices (everything!). Then when you switch syncing back on again it gives you a completely fresh start with no corruptions. It works a treat
