    Thunderbird works OK, but limited. To name a few .

    • Loading bulk contacts is a nightmare. Even after downloading add on, it wouldn't detect It.I've got 200+ contactss
    • Icons limited
    • Font size ditto.
    • Text color limited.
    • Icon images in menu bar not self-explanatory, like A for every one, instead of B, I, U etc, etc

    No dogfights! Might want to look at this addon for T-Bird. Works wonders for font, size, color, etc.

    I use each addresses webmail interface. I also encourage my clients to do the same. Reasoning... Most people do not back up and at least with webmail, you are not going to lose saved mail. The ability to access it from anywhere is a plus.

    UPDATE: I finally got Windows Live Mail to load and work successfully on Winodws 10 Pro 64 bit on my backup computer.

    I used the Win Live Essentials installer as follows:

    Right clicked the installer > Properties > Compatibiltiy tab > Run compatibiltiy trouble shooter > Followed the prompts. When the window opened to choose what to install, I chose WLM only.

    I am totally stoked! Yeeeee Haaaaa

    I just stumbled across this thread and am curious as to why there is very little love for the Mail app? Since I got Windows that's been the only mail app I have used. I can be a little confusing to use at times, especially when searching folders and I have to log into the web version, but I have got used to it and like it.

    Hi there

    @Mustang

    An unconventional but the most effective solution for a decent FREE email client believe it or not is to use an XP Virtual VM with Outlook Express --- so long as you don't use XP for general internet use - just install last XP version (SP3) as a Virtual Machine and use the built in Outlook Express application.

    It's a real shame Ms abandoned Outlook Express --simple uncomplex email client which had multiple accounts if you needed then plus IMAP / POP3 /EXCHANGE server connectivity --interface is similar to curent Outlook although all the extra bells and whistles e.g all the groupware / collaboration / sync to social media rubbish isn't there --but if you don't use that and just want a simple email client IMO Outlook Express can't be beaten on any score.

    a small XP VM takes almost zero resources on a modern machine using VBOX or VMWARE player.

    Cheers

    According to me.. The best replacement of Windows Live Mail is Microsoft Outlook. Its free and very easy to use, and known to be the best email engagement client.
