So once my add ons are restored, I can disable Studies?

Yes. It was just used as an expedient way to download the patch to all FF users.
I know some people dislike Firefox and I am not excusing this error (it was a ticking time bomb, not the first or last time a certificate expiration will bite some software or service ), but you have to give Mozilla folks kudos for stepping up and fixing it in the wee hours of the morning.
Went back to the original machine that got this bug about 24 hrs ago. Did not fix itself until this was done. Not sure if this is what fixed it or if someone at Mozilla was up all night & it finally got pushed to all users.
It was easy for me to tell since opening a new blank tab was different from my customized one, i.e. New Tab Tools extension.
I was in database management for over 25 years, so I know what it takes to get a critical fix implemented this fast. Kudos to the Mozilla folks ...
✔. . 👍
I also unchecked the studies box. . .
I'm barely qualified to even have an opinion, but man, it sure seems like there were a lot of snarky comments made
about this issue !! .
Thread: Add-ons not working due to certificate expiration - Add-on Support - Mozilla Discourse
.
I'm currently running Quantum FireFox version 66.0.3 and the extension addon LastPass will absolutely not install for that version or any other version of FireFox I have tried.
I currently have a support ticket pending with LastPass as a Premium user and should hear back from them soon to see if the problem is on their end or FireFox's end.
It's good to hear that FireFox addressed the issue quickly; however if anyone is using the LastPass extension successfully in the version of FireFox I mentioned above, please let me know how you got it to work.
Every time I try to install the extension, the addon manager implies that the extension addon is corrupt for LastPass and it will not install.
I even tried to manually install the addon extension with the .XPI file trick and unfortunately had the same results...….file is corrupt.
EDIT:
Wait a minute here; I seem to have a problem adding any extension addon in FireFox Quantum version 66.0.3
So clearly there is still an issue with the certificate expiration?
I tried the "studies" trick outlined in this thread; but it has no effect because any addon I try to install throws out the error that the addon is corrupt.
What is going on here?

Nothing working here in the UK I have Studies activated, but nothing, this is the second day for me, and they said it would be fixed in a few hours. I have downloaded the new Microsoft Edge which is now based on Chromium and I can use all my extensions on that now, so that is bye bye firefox for me, and well done Microsoft its about time.
Yes, everything is working in Microsoft Edge for me as well. Good thing my LastPass vault was accessible through Edge because if I would have lost all my auto-logins; I would have been very livid and Mozilla would've had a lot to answer for LastPass users.
The thing that makes me really angry, is the fact that I just bought the LastPass Premium package just before all my addon extensions became useless in FireFox 66.0.3
I just went through that ordeal with RoboForm and Microsoft Edge and now LastPass and FireFox are having a squabble. This is getting ridiculous because every time I purchase a product, I can either thank my browser for incompatibility or a products incompetent approach to resolve issues.
Also, when I check that "Studies" check box, it won't stay checked. Obliviously Mozilla, doesn't want me implementing a work-around at this point???
I'm using Comodo ice dragon and the current version says it is using FF 64 but when I go to options > privacy/security > there is no data collection & use that I can see or anything about studies to check.
I know Comodo is a little behind FF so I guess I will be using my trusty old back up Brave browser until this all gets sorted out!
