How can I automatically clear persistent cookies

I'm using Firefox which I've set to clear cookies when I quit. However, one or two persistent cookies still seem to remain - I guess that's why they're called persistent.

Is there anyway to automatically clear these as well? I've done a search for a solution but not come up with anything so far.

Thanks for the reply. I do use CCleaner to get rid of them but that relies on me running it. I'm really looking for an automatic process that clears the persistent little devils when I close FF.

Yes, I took a quick look, thanks, but need a bit more time to really understand what its about, so I'll give it some more thought in the next day or so and let you know the result

Hi Sam, I can show you how to automatically clear cookies, etc, when you close Firefox. There is a program called Sandboxie. Is a sandbox program that you can use to run Firefox (or any browser, but Edge). By default, all changes, including cookies, get deleted when you close the browser.

If you are not familiar with the program, you might like to read the article (link below) I wrote about Sandboxie last month.

Is a fantastic program. In a nutshell, anything you do in a browsing session, gets deleted when you close the browser. I dont care what it is, if you run Firefox under Sandboxie, all changes, including persistent cookies, malware, keyloggers, etc, are deleted.

Sandboxing the browser is just the tip of the iceberg of what can be done with Sandboxie. If you read the article, you ll get a rough idea of what SBIE is about. Also, check this threads at another forum about SBIE. One of them go back years.

Like I wrote, by default, all changes are deleted when you close Firefox. But Sandboxie is flexible, so there are settings available to save bookmarks, cookies, if that was what you wanted, etc. You can also save downloads or anything. You can tighten or relax the sandbox as much as you want. The screen below is of one section in Sandbox settings that can be used to set Firefox as you wish There are other sections or windows in Sandbox settings that are used for setting up Firefox or any program that you run in the sandbox, but in the section in the picture, you can see cookies being mentioned. And it should give you a rough idea of what SBIE can do for you.
