    Hi @thomaseg1
you could try running these commands in " Run " winkey + R

    ie4uinit.exe -show
    ie4uinit.exe -ClearIconCache

The commands refresh the icons on taskbar. ( possibly on the desktop also )

Try it and let me know if it works :)

nope, though I tried the iconcache trick as well. Oh well, I got some back by deleting and restoring them, though they are a bit small. (note for some reason Microsoft edge wont allow drag and drop websites to desktop.)

how does one get an icon of a website?
    btw your 10forums icon worked

    - - - Updated - - -

found A answer here that worked. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!to...ox/1Ei2zfpDr5M
    go to site example: Google
remove any excess after the com
add /favicon.ico to the end https://www.google.com/favicon.ico
right click and save to a favorite folder (mine is c:\ICONS) as an icon file google.ico
right click on desktop shortcut choose properties then change icon choose browse and point to the
location where your new icon is and choose the icon then apply and close.

note: this does not work on every website but so far on most of mine.

There you go, all working :)
Some of the icons have low res but that's because they were made this way.
Will look normal once you apply them on the shortcuts.

I simply took the icons from the cache dir where they are saved,
then uploaded them to google drive and gave you the links :)
