I didn't notice at first but now I see. The above tweet comes from main twitter account of microsoft edge, the profile picture of which has been changed to that of the beta version.
Maybe when the stable edge releases, the profile picture won't go back to looking like it did before and maybe we are in for a new logo (which, according to me, is the single most important thing that'll make people switch from chrome to..[_____] browser).

Found out the stable version is just another leaked beta. Really Microsoft Edge will be out of beta by 2021 how much freaking testing do you need when it is just a fork of Chrome. I uninstalled the "Stable" beta and went back to Chrome.
In this publication from the Microsoft community, the Edge engineers had promised to fix this issue:

CHrome store works again. Themes still not working. Flash screen issue still there when using dark mode.
PS. Just noted that the screen flash in dark mode with Brave too. Just less noticeable.
