Automatic updating of browser is creating havoc with my data allotment! I've tried several things but nothing seems to work...how can I prevent the browser from auto updating? Thanks very much
Which version are you on? Perhaps try beta if your capped as it's not updated so frequently.

Why does this browser Have to hold so much personal data things like passwords that it shows the actual password not just stars looking at other browsers they are made for browsing not holding information that I assumed was held securely in my pc

Thats the underlying chromium functionality, Chrome does this as well.

Interesting, although there is still no flag to enable the "Global media controls" in the new Edge...
In Edge the flag is called Media Session Service

I don't think so, when you enable that flag, the global media controls don't appear.

Hmmm...,
If I set it to Enabled or Default, the controls are there; if set to Disabled the controls do not appear.
Maybe Audio Focus Enforcement has to be enabled as well.

No, the only method to enable those controls is by adding "Global media controls" to the shortcut, if you open the new Edge from another shortcut, the controls don't appear, you are confused.

I already did several tests and that flag doesn't enable the global media controls, but if you enable the controls by adding "GlobalMediaControls" to the shortcut, with that flag they can be disabled.

I just found this on one of my computers that has the May update installed:
This button doesn't appear on the computer where I have installed insiders builds, so it is surely part of the CFR.
