Sync is back this morning.
In the new build released today there is an improvement in the "Find on page" function:
This was a change made by Microsoft in the Chromium project:
This change had already been enabled in Chrome Canary, but it was quickly removed after some problems. Microsoft made some improvements and the change was enabled again a week ago in Chrome Canary and today is finally available in Edge Canary."Prepopulate find with selection.
Currently, the find box only considers its own history when opening, but sometimes the user has selected a term on the page and wishes to search for additional instances (especially when looking at source code.)
To expedite this (and prevent needing to use the clipboard), this change considers the active text selection (if any) when the find widget is invoked."

Interesting, although there is still no flag to enable the "Global media controls" in the new Edge, it seems that Microsoft is making small changes to the UI of the controls so that they fits better with the design of the new Edge, in the build released today you can see those changes:
This change can also be seen in the PiP function, in addition, now when you hover the pointer over the mini player, the dark shadow doesn't cover the entire mini player as in Chrome, it only covers a small strip:

Automatic updating of browser is creating havoc with my data allotment! I've tried several things but nothing seems to work...how can I prevent the browser from auto updating? Thanks very much
