When this browser goes final will all your settings import into the stable version? I worry because going from Canary to Beta I had to copy the browser settings which were not easy to find manually.

Would it be nice if it did?

You can always export your bookmarks from your current browser to a file then just import them when Edge is released.

I've noticed that canary seems to have a problem importing bookmarks that are on Chromes bookmark bar so I had to add those manually.

@swarfega, much appreciated. Unfortunately I'm one of those that can't get it right when performing simple tasks the like you suggested. But that is my problem.

    Cheers.

One thing I noticed, is that it doesn't include user names and passwords.

Sorry I meant extensions. I normally have to download them manually from the Chrome and manually restore there settings from backups.

He He, I always end up doing all that manually every time I install or reinstall a browser. The only think I get right, now and then, is to get my bookmarks from an exported file I saved. Getting settings extension etc from saved folder, never got it right.

Coming from long time IEx, then long time Google Chrome user.

Well, I have been having my own horror show with MS Bookmarks/Favorites and Canary with SYNC between 3 Devices all running same OS and Canary build and account.
For me it has only been the last few builds that appears to have stabilized?....Sync wise.

I have thousands of Bookmarks (Automotive URLs) and what happened to me was a doubling up and in some cases tripling up of the exact same Favorite/Bookmarks....even though all Devices use exact same Hotmail Account as the browser default....MS's ''system'' would not merge just duplicate.

One would REALLY think the geniuses who devise this 'new' SYNC System that ......
    1. They would recognize that the exact same account is use on different devices..
    2. If Bookmarks are encrypted or whatever on MS servers then the Server would auto Merge these exact same Bookmark/URL/Titles.
    3. But no that is too much to ask, it is the BASICS which are not basic.

So I had to manually delete 'extras' once they gave us "Sort by Name" access (made it somewhat easier).
I would have thought it was not possible to have the exact same Bookmark and Title and exact same url without file saying copy (1) (2) (3)....but it did not.
Even had a few Bookmarks Auto Imported/Sync from my original Google Chrome Browser which says on end of Title ''from Chrome'' with no notification this was happening or wanted.
I originally imported Favs for new Edge Chrome from a file (google chrome) as I did not want to import them from my old Edge that was not used and very outdated.

As far as Passwords go no way that I can see you can export 'a file' to save to then import to Edge , but you can browser import Passwords say from Google Chrome over to Edge Chrome, OK.

TECHNICALLY once this Browser is in final release/ready mode you should be able to just ''Sign into your Account'' and Edge Chrome will auto MS cloud import Favs/Bookmarks from your account like Google does.? (for clean installs)...so you should not have to import from any 'saved' files.

    Anyway...

The sync is still in early development and is certainly not finalised.
