I have W10 Pro V2004 and there is nothing like that in gpedit.
Microsoft has not yet added the flag to enable the new "extensions menu" available in Chrome for a long time, but a change made recently in Edge Canary, makes me think that that flag could be added in the coming days. This extension menu caused a bug in the toolbar and in the bookmarks bar:
As seen in the GIF, the toolbar area and the bookmark bar area are higher when the extensions icons are pinned.
This bug was fixed in version 81.0.370.0:
This was an "exclusive" bug of Edge (I don't remember seeing it in Chrome) so this fix was made specifically for Edge, it's not a Chromium fix. Perhaps Microsoft engineers thought that this new menu did not yet have the "quality" needed to enable it in the new Edge (through a flag) and they are beginning to fix this small bugs in preparation to add it to Edge.

January 15, 2020, Microsoft will release the final stable version of Edge Chromium to the public.
It will be automatically downloaded and installed on all Windows 10 devices via Windows Update, replacing Legacy Edge.
If you wish to disable this forced installation,
you'll need to create a Registry entry to do so.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft
under the Microsoft key, create a new Key named EdgeUpdate
in the right pane, create a new DWORD (32bit) Value named DoNotUpdateToEdgeWithChromium and give it a value of 1
Restart your PC.
If you change your mind, simply delete the key you created.
NOTE:
It is yet unclear whether Legacy Edge will obliterated either way, or, what will happen to existing Edge Chromium installations.
It is also unclear whether one will be able to obtain a copy of Edge Chromium after the fact.
