MS Edge running in the background even after Egde closes

Just recently switched to using Edge and just giving it a try. This is NOT the new Chromium-based Edge, but still using the standard Edge. What I noticed, that even when closing all Edge tabs and the whole entire browser, some Edge processes are still running or showing up under Task manager. How can this be removed all together after closing Edge? Will this make my machine slower even if I am not opening a browsing session using Edge?

You can turn that off in Settings/Privacy/Background Apps

I did this for Edge only under Background apps and signed out and then sign on again, no luck, the processes are still there. However, the processes looks like there are Suspended and not actually running. So maybe a wise guess would be that Edge should be doing this by design to avoind system performance issues. Dont know, would be glad if someone would shed some light into this.

You may want to take a look at this tutorial. Shows how to stop Edge from pre-loading and re-loading in the background after it's closed.
