The interesting thing, CountMike is that on my HP laptop, while it does that (what i described) on Firefox...It doesn't do that on the original Edge or the new Edge w/Chrome...It's not that i don't have enough ram (I have 8 gb) and even with the problem, about half my memory is still free, but i guess it is because of the fact that it isn't doing it with the Edge w/Chrome, is making me lean toward using it as my main browser...

Well, since memory isn't primary concern, I guess than it's only a matter of personal preference toward the way it works. There's no law that forbids using two or more browsers.

    Very True
I figured though, that it is always a good idea to have at least one back up browser, just in case there is a problem on your main (everyday use) browser you are using...

Edge was always very good about managing memory and that seems to also be the case with Edge w/Chrome...So that is what is "edging" me (lol) toward it...

I'll give Firefox another shot...and monitor the memory business...maybe i can still give it a go as my main browser

I switched back to Google Chrome from firefox some months ago and it's been fine...However, i got curious
today and decided to download Firefox again and play with it to see how it is now...One thing i did observe is that it does seem more snappy about loading in web pages and the 3rd party tracking feature seems to work well...I didn't take off Chrome but would appreciate any input from the experiences of others who have recently used both and which one YOU prefer to use for your primary browser...
I use Firefox for various reasons; I'm not so much concerned about speed, but with accuracy, safety, security, and ease of use. Firefox fits my needs and I hardly ever bother with anything but.

I prefer Firefox over Chrome, but I'm not really a fan of Firefox or any of the Chromium derivatives.

The only other option now on Windows is Pale Moon, which uses a forked version of the Gecko rendering engine.

I was dismissive of Pale Moon until I read that protections against side-channel timing attacks were implemented in Pale Moon over a year before the Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities were publicly disclosed.

Ummm, I have 24 GB RAM in my desktop and at least 16 GB in both my laptops. I'm pretty sure that 8 GB RAM is the absolute minimum in order to have a fairly decent experience with Windows 10. If you're into gaming, photo and/or video editing, you need more.

@Wynona: i don't do gaming, photo or video editing...mostly web browsing, stream radio and music videos on you tube...

I have 8 gb of ram and most of the time, i am using between 3 and 4 gb...rarely go much over that...Even on Firefox i rarely go any higher...My friend (after mentioning about this) suggested that i keep using Firefox as my main browser and Edge w/Chrome as the back up...

Seems ok now...Occasionally the memory does go up somewhat for a while but then goes lower again...so looks like Firefox will be the main browser after all...

I'll keep Edge w/Chrome as my back up browser...and eventually of course, it will replace the original Edge in windows 10 and then i will delete the DEV version at that time...
