Firefox vs Chrome

FF is my browser of choice because I thinks it more controllable in terms of privacy compared with Chrome. However, there are some occassions when FF doesn't work correctly and I have to switch to Chrome. I've never known Chrome to not work correctly on any site but it will still be my backup browser in preference to FF.

On my Android tablet I still prefer to use FF but it's painfully slow compared to Chrome. I tried FF Focus and found that didn't function very well.

I like Chrome and I have used it for ages. But I have uploaded Mozilla a few weeks ago Mozilla Firefox Download - Free Latest Version for Windows and it's pretty smart). I mean that it is not worst than Chrome and it's good to work with. Chrome is a native app for me but Mozilla is something new because I used it the last time before I downloaded it again maybe 6 years ago. The one thing I'll improve in Firefox is its extensions. In general, both browsers are working with the same speed. Both have the attractive and easy-to-use interface.

My only problem with Chrome is that it doesn't have this, the MENU BAR as I'm lost without it, specially BOOKMARKS.

The lack of that makes using Chrome too clumsy, IMO. I have extensive Firefox bookmarks categorized in folders and subfolders. Yet, I can access any site they link to with only 2 mouse clicks, including the one that opens Bookmarks.

I've been back and forth quite a bit with browsers over the past couple of years. Google Chrome just works on pretty much everything, but its interface is getting pretty bland and it sucks battery on my laptop and phone like that's its job... Opera is a really good alternative. It has a solid Chromium base but with many useful additions such as ad-blocker, VPN, battery saver, etc. I also currently have Edge Dev installed on both of my PCs which has the new Chromium base. It looks and feels exactly like Chrome and can even use Chrome extensions, but unfortunately it keeps the dull Chrome UI. I've mostly been using Firefox Quantum as of late though. I found it much better than Chrome on my Android phone (Moto G5S+) and I love how customizable it is (Firefox has the best themes, hands down), the large catalog of add-ons, and and its great privacy features.

    Hi there

    Audi vs BMW etc etc

Use what you like the best -- there's not a huge amount of difference these days --however like @CountMike I prefer things with menu bars on it -- too many of modern apps look like they are designed to run on mobile phones rather than a proper computer --espcially if you have several monitors and large screens -- so FF is the one for me. Edge is fine for simply reading PDF files -that's about the only thing I ever use that one for.

    Cheers

FF Focus needs some of the settings turning off like javascript /1st party cookie blocking to work across most websites, otherwise it will break many.
I find it really quick on a five year old Nexus 5, I just have it set up to delete everything like cookies (3rd party are blocked), cache et al on exit. My default anonymous Android browser now.
I used to use Ghostery browser but they ruined it with an update.

As compared to the new version of Edge (with Chrome) do you Firefox fans still feel that Firefox is the better choice?
I've been using Edge with Chrome (DEV VERSION) for a while and it seems very fast, snappy in loading in web pages, and reasonably good on memory... I was using Firefox but had taken it off so haven't used the newest versions....
I was thinking about taking a look again at Firefox....so would appreciate any feedback...

Edge Dev is really good, I'll give Microsoft that. It's basically Chrome with Windows 10 integration. The excellent PDF viewer is the best part. Personally, I find myself still leaning toward Firefox though. It has much more fine grained privacy controls and is more customizable.
