Be interesting to see a polished version arrive soon!
Yes. Polish would be a big reason to give the new edge a try. If Microsoft is able to degoogle Chromium and infuse the best of EdgeHTML into their new browser I don't see why one won't use it instead of Chrome.

It's probably not going to be "de-googled"....will probably be more like Google Chrome mixed in with Edge "touches"...

I saw one article that the final, polished release of Edge with Chrome base won't be released to the spring of 2020...I sure hope that isn't true...seems like an awful long wait...If they are releasing it to the insiders in about a week or so, it wouldn't seem that it should take THAT long to do the general release...

I like it so far, I just hope they don't blow it with overkill!

The one thing I use the old Edge for the most is the F12 Developers Tools and the Emulation tab. Emulate an iPad and you can download an ISO direct from Microsoft.

Took me ages to find out how to do that in the 'Chromium' Edge (as there's no Emulation tab). Apparently you have to toggle the device toolbar on to be able to select a device.

When they said 'emulate', I wasn't expecting this complete an emulation. You can even show the device frame

I like the nice clean UI in a lot of areas, (but, that could change overnight!)

What do you mean by overkill though?

Unnecessary gimmicks that MS tend to do.
