So I don't want you to put any apps on your smartphone.

Disconnect your smartphone from your wifi, enable the smartphone hotspot and connect your wireless laptop (computer) to the hotspot.

Then on your laptop go to subway. Does it still think you are in Canada?

The goal is determine whether laptop is causing the location issue or your service.

Thanks for the Private message suggestion. I already deleted all the messages from yesterday but they have a 24 hour clock for quantity during a 24 hour period that still needs to run out. I really need to find out why some of my posts get posted without the "edit post" icon.
Once I get past the restrictions I'll send a private message to the Moderator that did the deletion per your request (or it could be that he saw my request?). Either way, my private info is taken care of. Thanks.

As far as your suggestion. I have been out of the field for a number of years. Are you saying that I can make the smartphone itself a hotspot for my laptop or other wireless computers?

Normally I try to connect to Subway with my hardwired (RJ45) connected PC. To test the problem I have tried connecting to Subway from my wife's PC which is connected to the router via wireless only and still have the same issue. I'm pretty certain that I tried connecting to Subway with my wireless laptop as well and had the same problem but I'll try that again.

I guess I will be the "dummy" to learn the hotspot setup. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon but I will try the troubleshooting steps by tomorrow. Thanks Ken.

    Okay.

The hotspot should be straight forward. Should be being the operative words.

It is important that the device can't find a route through your router. The easy way while you are testing this, shut off wireless router.

On my phone (iOs) I go into settings, then into cellular, turn hotspot on, then connect wireless device to hotspot and enter password.

    Will be interested in results.

Let’s back up. What does it show for your IP DNS location at https://www.iplocation.net/. Take the info and then forward it to your ISP and Subway’s domain host to fix the problem.

I tried the smartphone hotspot connection this morning and, as expected, it connected successfully and did NOT think I was in Canada. It was gruesomely slow and site connections timed out numerous times but it proved your point. Thank you.

So, it does not appear to be Win 10 or the browser. It can only be my Netgear R6250 Router or the Cable modem. I'm guessing it's the router as I'm guessing you're thinking as well.

Do you want to continue or should I shift to a Netgear forum?

Either way, thank you for helping narrow the issue down considerably. I did not know my smartphone could be used as a Internet routing device or, in this case, a hotspot. Us old timers learn something new every day. Thanks again!

Oops. this is awkward. I gave your reply a thimbs up but it was meant for Ken. No negativity intended, I hope the "thumbs up" makes your day a little brighter bro67.

As I mentioned in my original post, several Geo-location sites find my location correctly and I've logged unresponded reports with them.

Not sure how comfortable you feel with router, I assumed you set it up.

I would look up the instructions to reset it, simple process.

You should loose your Wifi ID and password if you customized. That said your ISP may have more complex setup.

You could also just sign into router and check Internet Setup.

Internet IP address should likely be "Get Dynamically from ISP".

That is how mine is set. Your ISP may have different setup instructions so I would strongly recommend you call their support desk before changing anything and ask if router needs any particular setup "Settings"

    Don't want you totally offline.

I did a reset but the reset did not totally reset the router as the manual says it should. I powered the router off and held the reset button in for about 15 seconds while powering back on. The manual says at least 7 seconds. The router rebooted which took longer than usual and I was forced to do a password recovery. I assume it stores my changed security information on the web and fetched it for me because it asked for my secret answers to my secret questions and told me what my password was and it still worked.

Anyway, for the 'not so total' factory reset, it came back with my network (including wireless networks) configured as they were before I did the reset, and Subway still thought I was in Toronto. All Geo-Locators found me where I really am.

I think if I try hard enough I can get it to do a real factory reset but then I'll be off for a while to reconfigure my networks and passwords etc.

Okay. If you sign into router and look in Internet Settings is it set to "Get Dynamically from ISP"?

Can your supplier reset your modem with out causing you grief?

The three sets of info, show how your IP is set by geo-location. If it does not show that the IP is in your area, you can use that to get the ISP to fix it. If it does show correctly, you get in touch with the Subway tech group at milnes_d @ subway dot com

Don't think this is a Subway issue. Rich mentioned in opening post other sites make him convert CDN dollars to US.
