Can anyone tell me about Epic Privacy Browser and why it's on my PC

I was going thru my startups today and noticed that there was a startup for an Epic Privacy Browser Installer today. When I checked further there's a folder in my AppData folder for it and it contains files and there are entries in my registry for it but when I go to control panel and look for it there's nothing there that shows it being installed. All of the folders in AppData are dated 9/24/2018. My problem is that I do not recall installing any browser by that name on my PC. It's possible that I was experimenting around and quickly removed it and what's left is tramp data but I don't even recall installing it.

Does anyone know anything about this Epic Privacy Browser Installer and why it might be on my PC with no apparent way to uninstall it? Any help will be appreciated.

Two possibilities I can think of; either it came bundled with something else you installed unbeknownst to you or it is from the Microsoft Store (but why it came to be on your computer I do not know).

If it is still in the Start Menu you should be able to right click and uninstall.

Is there no uninstaller such as appname.uninstall.exe or something similar?

Not sure what more to suggest right now and I hope other users have some ideas for you.

Probably got "sneak install" with something else, I inherited Opera browser that way just recently by installing some other program and even said NO to it, installed anyway.

Windows 10 kept installing on my pc several software, something like Phototastic (I do not remember the exact name) several games etc, so maybe its some proposed or advertised app.

    Try this command:

    "C:\users\user\appdata\Local\Epic Privacy Browser\Application\29.0.1.0\Installer\setup.exe" --uninstall

Replace the relevant names of users with your name etc.

Thanks. I went to their website and found that they have a forum for the product and I asked the same questions as above and they basically said that Windows 10 has a problem with there installer and that I could simply remove the folder and it's contents from the AppData folder and it would be considered removed. However doing it this way leaves a bunch of tramp data in the registry so I just hacked the registry and removed everything related to the app, removed the startup entry with CCleaner and then removed the folder from AppData. After a reboot there were no issues. Not that I recommend hacking the registry for everyone but I'm a former tech that had experience in removing tramp data from the registry. Hate it when the provider of a product uses some funky installer that doesn't work properly. Thanks again to everyone that replied.

You could try a 3rd party uninstaller- Revo Uninstaller/ Geek U... and if you can't afford a Pro license for Revo, Wise uninstaller (free) allows you to browse to a remaining exe after a failed install and so uninstall with scan.
