    New blue bar has appeared in Firefox

    I'm on Firefox Quantum 65.0 (64-bit), and there must have been an update because whenever I try to use the url box, an annoying bright blue bar appears.
    I've unchecked almost everything in Options and set a ton of stuff to false in about:config - but the dazzling bar is still there.

    even about:config

    How to get rid ?

    This previously distracting search drop down appeared after the upgrade to v.65 and was something I'd been able to remove before by setting the about:config value "browser.urlbar.autocomplete.enabled' to false. However this value is now purposely ignored in v65 due to sync issues with mobile preferences.

    More details here: Unable to turn off search suggestions after upgrade to Firefox 65 | Firefox Support Forum | Mozilla Support

    The workaround is to add this to a userChrome.css file

    #PopupAutoCompleteRichResult {

    display: none!important;

    }
    Found this yesterday.

    Glad it worked. I found it very annoying as well.

    And thanks @badcrc for starting this thread. Now Google Searches for 'New Blue Bar has appeared Firefox' returns this most recent fix instead of all these historical non-solutions to this distracting drop-down going back 8 years that no longer work and had us running in circles.

    While this is an old thread that had been solved, it remains a persistently reoccurring issue with each major release of Firefox.

    The current best fix for FF70 is to add this to your userChrome.css file:

    #urlbar-results {
    display: none !important;
    }
