My Windows 10 PC is attached with my MS account. I have two user one admin and other simple user. What I am finding is that even if I am logged in as a simple user, my MS account outlook email is always open. This user is used by my family members and guests. How to log off from this email so that email can not be read by other family members and guests.

    Hi Sam

When you log into your standard user are you logging in with your MS account or are you logging in locally?

What mail product or browser are you using to open outlook.com ?

    Hi,
My PC is set to default opening of Standard User. And no password is set to open Standard User. The outlook.com Icon is shown on Taskbar and if I click this Icon, the MS mail auto open without asking of User ID or Password of the mail.

Still not clear when you say outlook.com icon and then you say MS mail.

I will assume you are using the Windows 10 Mail app, big white envelope.

Should be a gear icon in window, lower left, click on it and one option should be to manage accounts.

    Okay now I'm confused.

If you want to end the opening in browser delete all your browsing data (cookies and passwords)

If you click start, then settings, then accounts, then Email and Accounts. Again you will see the accounts associated with this user. At the bottom you will see your microsoft account and you will see it can be set to allow MS apps to sign you in. You may have to shut this off,

I would delete the standard account you set up and create a new one using a local. If you don't want a password so be it.

This way neither the browser or mail app will be able to sign in using your credentials. Call the standard user Family or something the associate with.

If you are accessing Outlook.com via a browser go to your 'account' top right corner and 'sign out'. When you next sign in don't tick check the remember me box.
If you have more than one account you should be able to toggle between them, if not manually enter the details of the account you want to log in with, but never tick the remember me tick box. That way you will always have to manually sign in rather than it being automatic. You can delete the specific sign in cookies in your browser of the account you want to log out of if you want to be belt and braces about it.

    1. I changed it to Apps needs to ask me to use this account but nothing changed and even now if I click the Big White Envelope, the email open up. There is another option to Delete this account. If i choose this, will it delete the account from my device i.e PC or will it delete from this standard user only.

    2. Another thing, when I did not add MS Account to Standard User then how it has been added.

One thing which I think, I could not explain properly to you is that it is not opening in browser. It opens up when I click Big White Envelope. I think now it should be clear.

It should only delete it from the standard account. Although this is a mystery as it should not have transferred to your standard user so it might remove all.

On your point 2...it sounds like when you set up standard account you indeed set it up local. It should not have poached your credentials and used them.

If you log into Admin account and then go to accounts it should have the words "Local Account" under your standard user.

I had two accounts. One Namely A administrator account with password and second namely sam as Standard account without password. One day I attached my Windows 10 to my MS account and then Name of my Administrator A changed to my MS account name and now I can enter this account after putting my MS account password.

I am attaching screenshot of my standard account. It seems ok. But why it is opening my MS email when I click on the White Envelope in taskbar is unclear. I do not know if other are also having the same issue. How to log out from email outlook.com-sam.jpg
