    anyone waiting for new browser or already downloaded Chromium


    how many people are either waiting for new browser or already download? Is it official is it going to be Chromium to replace Edge? I looked through threads, but see that the plan is to dump Edge and it looks like Chromium is going to be custom for Windows... any threads that keep us up to date? Also the chromium I have seen (2 different versions (one for phones) and a new one for PC's. No time table, or will it just one day be installed with a huge patch that takes all day and a surprise....

    by the way, I thought the big updates were done for the year and then boom, yesterday one hit me and screwed me up at the wrong time of the day.... but it finally installed,, I didn't see a thread for that update.... Thanx

    Edge isn't going anywhere and NOBODY said it was being replaced by Chromium. It will be BASED on Chromium. Like many other Browsers are. Chrome, Opera, Vivaldi, Yandex, Cent, Brave, among others.

    Chromium is not replacing edge, Microsoft is using the Chromium code to completely rewrite Edge, so that it is more compliant with the iOS and Android OS versions of Edge, along with the IE code is no longer feasible with the direction that webpage and internal business apps in browsers are going.

    Maybe we will have access to addons too with a new improved Edge. Right now I don't use it because I need No Squint to browse as I need to. Some web sites offer individual zoom levels but most do not and as it is with my 58 year old eyes I need options PER website to browse without eye strain. I use Opera right now.. quite happy with it. Only thing I hate is that Opera is not a supported browser on Hulu so I have to use Edge to watch on their web site.. not the end of the world but it's annoying! LOL
