While i prefer Chrome, i'm getting increasingly frustrated at how bad scrolling is. On Firefox Smooth Scrolling is perfect. On Chrome i get lags, delays, jumps, scrolling in the wrong direction.... It's awful. Am i the only one?

I'm finding the scrolling to be pretty smooth...the only time it gets jumpy if it's a site that is lagging and not fully loading in right away...

I made the big switch today...uninstalled Firefox and made Chrome the default browser...Seems to use less memory and is generally quicker on many websites so i figured i go with it...

It will also be interesting to see how the Edge version works out after they switch to the Chromium base...
The difference in speed between all modern day browsers is not significant. I personally do not care for Google Chrome's Privacy Policy.

I wouldn't worry about it, it won't be a proper browser til they build it with Blink anyway!!!
Given that Microsoft is moving Edge to the Chromium platform, there are big changes in store.

I use both Edge & Firefox and both seem to be ok for what I do.....But when I say Firefox I really mean I am using Comodo Ice Dragon browser which is a clone of Firefox and Comodo says it is better, safer and faster than Firefox and after having used it for quite sometime now I would have to agree.

And on another topic I couple Ice Dragon with Comodos Cloud antivirus which I have it not to replace WD in any way but to get the added ability to be able to sandbox my browser if need be.

    Edge GPU utilization

I know this is unrelated to the title, but since you guys are talking about Edge, one thing I found out once was that Edge had better GPU utilization (specifically when I wad testing 4K video streaming). It seemed that Edge used more GPU than Chrome. And a weaker tablet on Chrome was not able to display 4K without studdering while on Edge it was able to offload much more load onto the GPU and display it smoothly.

This was maybe a year ago so I don't know what has changed if any. But I used GPU-Z and CPU-Z to confirm the results and it was really obvious iirc.

    EDIT:

    I found some old notes:

    Asus Transformer Mini

    Graphics on 4K TV Test:

    Youtube video:
1440p@30 works on Edge and Internet Explorer
1440p@30 and 2160p@30 stutters on Chrome

The MS browsers seem to offload efficiently to GPU while Chrome actually 100%'s the CPU.

Even at 1080p@30, Edge vs. Chrome is like 25% vs. 70% CPU load respectively. Edge maxes the GPU 100% instead, and this seems to let you play it smoother than Chrome (which does not max the GPU).

I couldn't test 2160p on Edge because Youtube 4K only works on Chrome.

I use Firefox and will continue to do so. I am not a fan of EDGE or IE.
