How to view email of Windows mail in MS Outlook Windows 10

I have some important emails retrieved from an old computer (Windows Vista) which was using Windows Mail.
I can view these emails in Windows 10 running MS Outlook but not properly. I can't see subject or sender.
Therefore, it is very difficult to trace email which I am looking for unless I open each one by one.

Please refer screen shot and guide me how I could see the subject and sender if, there is any possibility.
    Thank you.

Sorry, I have never used Windows Vista or "Windows Mail", but are these email files saved individually and with .eml extension by any chance ?

The following is only relevant if they are, as .eml can be easily imported into Thunderbird which you don't need to even install if you use the portable version (also just skip the steps to set up your email accounts if you don't wish to use Thunderbird as an email client when you first open Thunderbird).

You can get Thunderbird portable here:
Mozilla Thunderbird Portable (email) | PortableApps.com

Then you can just create a folder in Thunderbird, and drag & drop your .eml files from your original folder into that Thunderbird folder, where you can read the emails in full. You can refer to steps 1 to 4 in this link to see how it's done:
Import EML Files into Thunderbird to Open and View EML Files

As I said this is if your old emails are saved as .eml files, and its the way I did it for Outlook Express emails from Windows XP.

Hi, thank you for the detailed reply along with url link for Thunderbird.
    You asked:
"but are these email files saved individually and with .eml extension by any chance ? "
I have backed up from ol Hard drive and emails were in a Local Folders (refer screen shot) and saved individually with extension (eml).

In a second screen shot I opened the Property dialogue of one of the saved email which is showing eml extension.

Regarding Thunderbird I will try and report back.
In the meantime thank you very much once again.

Good, hopefully you should be able to import them into Thunderbird to view them properly.

Hello once again, I have installed Thunderbird portable version on an external hard drive and when I ignored to created an email account and lost, because I could not create a folder where I could drag and drop files. Refer screen shot.

I have referred the link (Import EML Files into Thunderbird to Open and View EML Files) but I can not figure it out how to create a folder or drag and drop files.
    Thank you.

Sorry, I didn't realize that newer Thunderbird releases won't properly set up unless at least one email account has been set up in it. The only way to proceed may be to get a free email account to get through the Thunderbird setup and then in the File menu go Offline. In the mean time, see if you can get along with enabling the .eml preview in Windows Explorer, as featured here:

I don't know either. I have noticed that in the past as well. Oddly, the replies are different though.

As per your suggestion I installed Preview handler.
It worked like magic. I can view in Explorer's Pane view window, in Outlook or even in the browser.
This tool is enough for me. No more frustrations.
    Refer screen shots.
You can see on the right preview pane there is a spam email (though not from Fedex)
How to view email of Windows mail in MS Outlook Windows 10-vista-email-explorer-preview-pane.jpg

In this screen shot you can see the same email opened in Outlook.

So, not only email, I can also use preview pane for photos/images.
I appreciate your cooperation and thank you very much for the help always.
