    Unable to disable spell checker

For some unknown reason I still get the annoying red underline in Edge despite having all the settings in settings-devices-typing turned off.
What's up with that? Did I miss something else somewhere?

    Perhaps try
How do I turn off autocorrect in Microsoft edge?

Open Settings from the start menu, then go to devices. There you'll find a tab named Typing, fifth in the list for me, and the autocorrect feature is displayed there. If you switch the autocorrect off, edge will stop bugging your text.

I am pretty sure it worked like expected on my previous installation without resorting to third party solutions or GP though. The whole OS is a damn mystery

1st para is NOT 3rd party. There are 2 different things there.

Yup, those are the usual settings everyone flips first and expects them to work. They do absolutely nothing for Edge

Another Windows bug? What happens if you create a new user for test purposes and try when logged in as that user?

But note: if you search for this problem there is a good number experiencing your problem.

I guess I'll fire Virtualbox up and see what happens with default unaltered installation.
