    A query about Edge

    Hi

When I was using IE 11, I used to drag the URL of site I had open, and place it in my Favourites folder.

I have now started using MS Edge, and it does not allow me to do same.

Cant anyone advise please, its not helped by not having a menu bar.

Press the star (shown in red below) and you can choose where to save the current page - to your favourites bar or another folder within favourites.

If you want you can display the favorites bar - it is in settings (the 3 dots in the top left marked in green).

Click on that and then settings and you can turn it on or off.

Thank you very much, sorted, so once I save the url that way, next time I open, I press star to open my saved favourites?

Your version of Edge looks different to mine. You have pressed the star with 3 lines coming out (marked in Yellow below) which opens the existing favourites.

To save it you need to press the star without lines (in red). This should be at the end of your address bar next to the reading view button that looks a bit like a book (which you also seem not to have).

What version are you running? If you go to Edge settings and scroll to the bottom it will tell you. Mine looks like this:

I don't remember if this is a new feature (and I have always used Edge) but I somehow doubt it as saving favourites is a pretty fundamental browser behavoir.

Perhaps someone using a different version will be able to tell us.

Good morning. Yes, you are an update or two behind mine:

And for what it's worth, MS has rearranged many of the settings in this one. It took me a while to find the setting for "Cookies" the other day.

You could try pressing ctrl + D. That opens the save favourite dialogue in my version.
