Try opening Outlook in safe mode (maybe some add-in is blocking file:

    1. Right-click the Start button, and click Run.
    2. Type Outlook.exe /safe, and click OK.
Tip: If Windows can't find Outlook.exe /safe, try using the full path to Outlook (for example C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OfficeXX, where XX is your version number).
Also check option 4 in this blog post:

Thank you ALL for trying to help me. An Outlook expert in the Microsoft Community gave me instructions on how to delete the Junk Mail with a MFCMAPI app. It worked. Thanks again, everyone.

Hi Caledon, I don't have a clear set of instructions, as I had to go back and forth with the Outlook expert a few times to modify her instructions to fit my situation. I will PM you her website in case you need to reach out to her.

That MFCMAPI app is very useful. I just used it to rename my Microsoft account on Exchange from myname@outlook.com to a name of my choice since there is no way to do this in Outlook 2016.

    I obtained MFCMAPI here https://github.com/stephenegriffin/m.../17.0.17099.01

    Hi there

seems to work on Outlook 2019 as well but of course I haven't a clue with what to do with it !!!! Any documentation (what's that I hear people saying !!!!) around.

Still have the problem of OUTLOOK 2019 only showing SENT MAIL in the machine it's installed on, INBOX mails are fine on whatever machine -- the servers are IMAP.

So problem is SEND mail on machine A --
Send more mail on Machine B

Machine A -- all inbound mail visible and message sent on A but not B
Machine B all imbound mail visible and message sent on B but not A.

    OUTLOOK 2010 works perfectly.

    Cheers

When my email plays up I just delete the profile, all files and reconfigure from scratch. I only use IMAP accounts so don't lose any data.

The answer to my issue using MFCMAPI is here under the reply by TH https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...9-119545b6a558

    Hi there
    @Steve C

Bit scared to delete profiles -- with the latest versions of Office 2016/2019 the auto config won't configure email accounts for me (I have my own non ISP and non gmail type servers). If I delete all profiles then the control panel mail applet get round which I use to configure goes bonkers as it can't find a profile.

My gut feel is that Ms is pushing everbody to outlook/365 and to use its cloud servers. Until I fix this wretched problem I use a small Windows VM with outlook 2010 to send emails so I don't lose any. The actual email still exixts because on my servers I can use a web app as well (don't like web / browser email clients though) and the email exists on the server.

    Cheers

A person with 5800+ posts shouldn't be scared of Windows. You can configure the email accounts with more options from Control Panel / Mail (32 bit) / Email Accounts. I just did this yesterday since I couldn't do what I wanted in Outlook 2016. I deleted the old profile, created a new one then added the accounts.
