Email issue

I run outlook.live.com as my email and I have three different addresses the current hotmail one my old bigpond and an old GMail the latter two I very rarely if at all use but I keep getting emails from Microsoft about updating my credentials.
Now I have looked at what they say I should do but get stuck where the unused emails are as I don't know what they want me to do with those addresses.

Anyone got any idea what it is they want of me please??

Hiyya Ken this is the guts of what they want - in the pic the message just reads It looks like we don't have the right credentials or something like that.

You will see lots of threads where gmail is not syncing with Mail.

For some reasons gmail considers a number of products less secure.

Likely these are old installations, you've had these accounts in Outlook for a long time, and they are not using SSL connections.

Is your Gmail account set up as POP or IMAP in outlook.

If IMAP you should be able to remove account and then set up again. It should automatically use the right servers and the right ports for SSL.

If that doesn't work then there is a setting in Gmail under Security to allow less secure apps.

Check with your supplier as to server names to use and specific ports.

Ok Ken thanks mate I am not sure what you mean by SSL as I am completely mail setup illiterate POP ands IMAP or whatever is like talking in Klingon .

It is just that I find just about every day there is one of these messages and I don't use gmail anyway I only set it up when I bought my first smart phone because I thought it was the smart thing to do and from the days when you had to give Microsoft an alternative email address to verify your account with them. I find it just irritating.

Yes that is an idea Helmut if I can find the details of how I set it up because it has been a very long time since I have used it.
