If you click on a pdf does it open in chrome reader?
I guess, I'm so frustrated now because I just keep getting the save as again.
Check you haven't got an extension enabled in Chrome:
Open PDFs in Acrobat Reader from Chrome
ok, with trial and error I found where my downloads setting "Ask where to save each file before downloading" was turned on, I switched it to off and now it downloads without saving and I can open it. So I guess the problem is now solved. Thanks for your patient help. I'm older, not real computer savvy, and easily frustrated lately!
I just printed out an IRS tax form on my desktop computer with no problem last week using Firefox. I have a Windows 10 HP. Yesterday when I was gone, my husband attempted to print another form and he couldn't do it.
Similar to the OP here, we now only get a Save popup option, and can't even open the PDF files on the site. Tried IE11 also, besides the Firefox and same thing.
I checked in my bookmarks because I have a couple of favorites saved with user manuals on PDF....Those will not open for me now either.
This is the first time this ever happened, I know nothing about these types of files, and what he may have clicked on yesterday to create this issue.
I don't know much about computers, but I thought about restoring the computer to the previous day if need be.
Is there an easy simple way for me to get things back to normal? Any advice appreciated, thanks.
Update on 2/22 - Thank you anyway, but I've resolved the problem. Seems like he clicked on do not allow Twinui to open file on IE11, and in Firefox the PDF setting was set to save for some reason, although he never went there. I changed it to open with Firefox.
