Edge asks to close all tabs with only one tab open

V1809 with the last Tuesday update. When closing Edge, it always asks to close all tabs even though there is only one tab open.

    Hi firebred

I just checked my Edge on 1809 (17763.55) and it does not have this behaviour. Tried with one tab and two tabs. Only got message with two tabs.

Have you considered the resetting Edge? Others may have better options.

I'm hesitant to reset Edge as it may wipe out items I don't want cleared.

For sure, tutorial even mentions favorites.

I use a standalone password manager and all my bookmarks are backed up in cloud. (Chrome).

I wonder is you checked the box to not get that message and reset it to get message. Can't recall where that setting is stored.

Did you send in feedback ... maybe others are having issue and we could see a CU fix in the future.

I also dual boot with the Insider version and I don't have the problem there. This just started since the 1809 update this past Tuesday.

Yes one step forward and one step back. The new norm. I would still high light on Feedback... I'm sure they are listening a littel closer.

Is Edge allowed to run in the background, it's got that 'Tab Pool' thing going on under suspension...

I just "open and close" as needed. Its not always on.

As I only noticed it after the Tuesday update KB4464330, I uninstalled that (reboot) and it didn't make any difference. Murphy's Law.
I sent a report on the feedback link.

I "fixed" it. Don't ask me what I did but the problem mysteriously disappeared the same as it mysteriously appeared.
I'll keep this open until tomorrow in case if comes back.

The fix is still "in" this morning after power on boot so I'm marking this solved.
