1809 and 'Top Sites' in Edge no longer configurable.

Following a clean installation of 1809 I'm finding that my top sites are not able to be moved around as you could in previous versions. Trying to drag a tile to the left or right simply places the No Entry sign over it meaning 'you can not do this'.

    Anyone else noticed this ?

I agree, I have the same behaviour. They do seem to update depending on what sites I use most often.

Yes, I see the same after updating 1803 to 1809. You can still pin/unpin them or delete them, but not move them.

Thanks for confirming that this seems to be 1809 related. Having my most frequently used sites in a fixed order was really useful.

Think I might report it via Edge as a 'problem'.

    Edit... Done. Report sent.

Remember, tomorrow is 'Patch Tuesday'. If we're very lucky it may be fixed in the CU.

Yes it's frustrating not being able to drag your pinned sites to keep related ones next to each other. Have to do the delete/replace dance.

What I'd like to see even more, would be the ability to add 3 or 4 additional rows of favorite/top sites. There was a "hack" for doing this in Internet Explorer in Windows 7. Maybe there's one for Edge too?

Not possible in Edge, no matter how many have asked for it in the feedback hub...

I would like to inform you that as this is by design, there is no way to increase the number of rows for top sites.

Which is why I prefer Firefox, or even Internet Explorer over Edge.

I gave the IE 11 registry fix for extra rows here....

Thank-you Bree. It's too bad that EDGE is still so "bare-bones", even after 3 years.

By the way...does anyone know how to stop EDGE from starting when the P.C. starts? My CCleaner always asks me if I want to close EDGE. It asks this even if Edge is not visibly running.

There's a tutorial, you can turn off pre-launch starting with 1809...

Thanks Bree. The Registry tweak worked like a charm. The Edge process doesn't end when Edge is closed, but Edge no longer starts with Windows 10. Excellent!
