    e-mail/browser Privacy Issue

I have an e-mail privacy issue and can't find a solution.

I'd assumed that this was a Chrome issue and posted this question on a Chrome forum but received no replies. Maybe someone here can point me in the right direction.

Occasionally after viewing an item on an e-commerce site, I subsequently get an e-mail asking if I'm still interested in the item.

An example, I'm using Chrome 69 (Win 10 Pro 64) to view an item on the BestBuy site but decide not to buy it. Subsequently, I get an e-mail from Best Buy asking if I'm still interested. On Chrome, I'm logged into my gmail account but the Best Buy e-mail arrives in my default e-mail account (i.e. not gmail). I am also NOT signed into an account on the Best Buy site. This similar situation has happened on a few other e-commerce sites.

I understand that cookies may be stored on my computer and can influence future searches or advertisements. However, it is disturbing that my default (non gmail) e-mail address is somehow transmitted to the e-commerce site without my permission.

Can someone enlighten me about how this can happen and how I can prevent this privacy breach.

Check Autofill, if you do not have your email saved within the browser.

You might be fighting a lost battle considering, that Google can put 1+1 together using ADs and other info.

Still try some anti-tracking extensions and those, that remove cookies like Cookie AutoDelete.

I don't have any passwords saved. I did have an e-mail account saved but it wasn't the one which is receiving the messages after an e-commerce browse. I deleted it nonetheless. After a "storm of spam" a few yeas ago, I changed my e-mail address and am now very protective of my main e-mail address. I only give it out to trusted friends.

I'll try this and see what happens. However, I must admit that I don't understand how this would help. I may be wrong but I don't believe that cookies will store my e-mail address. Am I wrong?
