    domain and email blocked

    Hi guys

I have my company email address which for some reason last week stopped working (can't connect to the server) on this laptop. My computer guy was at at a loss as all the settings were correct as nothing had been changed. He suggested try thunderbird, which also times out. we also tried the webmail, same thing and even the company website is blocked. he tested it from his end and everything is fine (he's remote not a company guy) changed password, nope same thing. turned off firewall, nothing changed. removed malwarebytes etc same.

seems everything that has 'acdirecttenerife.com' on it is blocked.?? how can this be???

on my phone everything works so its a local to this laptop issue

happy to provide further info if required but desperate to get back as quotes are piling up and i don't know what to check.

    Hi richardbartlett

Have you changed your DNS servers?
Have you scan for malware infection please follow below instructions.

    Malwarebytes' scanner
If this program is already installed: Skip the installation and run only the scan!
Download and install: Please download Malwarebytes' scanner to your desktop.

    • Double-click mb3-setup-consumer-3.x.x.xxxx and follow the prompts to install the program.
    • Click Finish.
    • On the Dashboard, click the 'Check for Updates' button.
    • After the update completes, click the 'Scan Now' button.
    • A Threat Scan will begin. Please allow it to progress through the scanning process.
    • When the scan is complete, if there have been detections, click Quarantines Selected button to allow the program to clean what was detected.
    • In most cases, a restart will be required.
    • Wait for the prompt to restart the computer to appear, then click on Yes.

How to get logs: (Export log to save as txt)

    • After the restart once you are back at your desktop, open Malwarebytes once more.
    • Click on the Reports tab > Scan Report. (if you have done more than one scan in the past, select the most recent that shows the Date and time of the scan just performed. Press View Report button.
    • Click 'Export'.
    • Click 'Text file (*.txt)'
    • In the Save File dialog box which appears, click on Desktop.
    • In the File name: box type a name for your scan log.
    • A message box named 'File Saved' should appear stating "Your file has been successfully exported".
    • Click Ok
    • Find the log on your Desktop and Attach that saved log to your next reply.

The website works on my end.

(It needs updating though. At the bottom it says: Copyright © Total Climate Control SL 2010. You should notify the webmaster to update that number to 2018.)

    Try this:
Firefox and other browsers cant load websites | Firefox Help
(Has nothing to do with FireFox. It's an attempt at a fix for your local computer.)

    Hey richardbarlett,
Long shot, but have you checked your hosts file ...

    1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
    2. Right click on hosts > open with notepad
    3. Make sure it doesn't have any reference to that site (0.0.0.0 acdirecttenerife.com)
    4. This is what a default hosts file looks like ...

    Code:
    # Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp.
    #
    # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
    #
    # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
    # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
    # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
    # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one space.
    #
    # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
    # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
    #
    # For example:
    #
    # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
    # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

    # localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
    # 127.0.0.1 localhost
    #    ::1             localhost

    Hmh... Check out this site:
Windows: Cannot Connect to Certain Web Sites

Go through the steps. (It includes the DNS Flushing. It also includes the Hosts file as stated right above my comment)
But I see a reply below the article that the TCP thing worked for one guy. Try that one out.

Might I suggest you run these four resets

Run the following four bolded commands. Use a Command Prompt(admin) or Powershell(admin)

Do not key in info in brackets, there for your information.

ipconfig /flushdns (Clear the dns cache)
nbtstat -RR (release and refresh NetBIOS names)
netsh int ip reset (reset ip settings)
netsh winsock reset (Reset Winsock Catalog)
