Mail and calendar app error 0x8000000b

Getting this error message when attempting to add google account to mail and calendar. Tried terminating and resetting app to no avail.

Does error say anything about syncing?

Could be you have to go into gmail account and tell it to allow less secure apps.

Worked before. Reinstalled windows and get same error message. I don't have a problem adding google acct to Ubuntu Gnome calendar app.

Was there any detail around error code, like unable to sync or some other words?

I thought an app password only had to be used if you had two step turned on and lots of people don't like two step. I do and I use just not in Mail app.

Can you look and see if you can get an app password from GMAIL. I'd wait to actual use as another member could very well have a better idea.

It keeps coming back to setting Gmail to less secure.

Just have a read of this. Seems to be a known issue. I hate the words known issue.

Looking at solution, but frankly calendar and mail always linked to google account, and I have made no changes to either. Based on that link my google account is set as stated. The only option would be to set google account without a password, which of course is not possible.

Unitl there is a fix by Microsoft, I think I wiil just use Ubuntu.
