Thank you all for your help. Now I'm sure it's the Mail App that's causing the 'mail' problem. It'll have to wait until tomorrow to fix it although I'm sure everything will be alright now.

As for Edge coming on when I wake the PC from sleep, it always happens and it just happened again. The Bing tab is the only one open and the screen shows me all the beautiful pictures that show up when I boot and logon. I haven't asked for Edge to come on and I haven't performed any searches. When I wake, I'd like NOT to have Edge there. I'd like the screen to be the way it was before the PC went to sleep. I don't have any clues there yet. Thank you!!

I don't use sleep on my PC's, but here are couple of things to check/try

    1. Settings > Privacy > Background Apps ... Turn off ... Edge
    2. Settings > Account > Sign In Options > Turn off .. Use my sign in to finish setting up my device and reopen my apps on update and restart (not sure this applies to sleep)
    3. If 1 & 2 don't help ... Open regedit and navigate to the following key. Set EnableActiveProbing to 0

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NlaSvc\Parameters\Internet

Note: Disabling this network check could cause potential issues when connecting via a web portal where you are not already authenticated
