    How Do I Pin A Gmail Shortcut To The Taskbar

    Hi,

    I created a desktop shortcut to my Gmail account, that opens with the Chrome browser, directly to my Gmail account.
    However, when I drag the shortcut to the tackbar. The option to Pin it to the taskbar is not present. The only option available, is Pin To Google Chrome.

    This option only works, while Chrome is open.
    Once the browser is closed. The shortcut doesn't remain.

    How can I pin my Gmail desktop shortcut to the taskbar, so that it remain there? When it's clicked on, it opens to my Gmail account as it does when on my desktop?

    I hope this inquire is understandable.

    @Cliff S

    Here is a screenshot of my right-click menu for the Gmail desktop shortcut.
    I do not have the same available option that you show.

    I've also created the shortcut within Chrome, as you describe.
    However, the shortcut that's created. Does not open to my gmail account.
    Instead, it opens to my Chrome home page, or as if I'm opening Chrome and not opening a specific web address.

    Below is a screenshot of the shortcut properties, that Chrome has created and placed on my desktop.

    It works fine for me
    Even though Chrome is open, it opens a new Window(not a tab) to my Gmail page

    Look in Start menu under Chrome apps when you create a shortcut(that's where the main one will be placed)

    Not working here...

    The shortcut created by Chrome open Chrome and not Gmail.
    The icon and it's name, sure makes it look like a Gmail shortcut.

    Still haven't yet figured out how to pin an internet shortcut to the taskbar.

    Based on what I've already posted/explained.
    Would anyone have a suggestion about what's going wrong and how to correct this?

    Thanks Cliff S.

    I've tried numerous times to create a shortcut to my Gmail account.
    However, each and every time I create the shortcut, by using the Create Shortcut from the More Tools menu.
    The shortcut created doesn't open to my Gmail account, but only opens Chrome to my homepage.

    Below is a .gif image,
    demonstrating what I get when creating the Gmail shortcut using this method.
    In the .gif image, the shortcut has already been created by Chrome.

    @Try3

    Thanks to your post here:
    Why can't I add desktop shortcuts to the Taskbar in W10 Pro?

    I was able to create the internet shortcut,
    which I've been trying to accomplish for quite a while.

    Thank you.
    Below is a quote from Try3's posting.

    To pin a URL, you would need to create a full shortcut to your browser that includes the URL as an argument.You can see the Target property containing the browser path followed by the url. To the right of the Taskbar tab "Test properties" you can see the pinned Test icon corresponding to that shown in the background of the snip.
