Is Trusteer Rapport addon safe to use

Yes, it is a highly recommended security add-on for banking and financial trading applications. You probably want to set up a shortcut for a browser with Trusteer loaded, so you can use the shortcut for sessions that require or might benefit from Trusteer, and launch the browser without Trusteer for other uses. It does impose some performance overhead/lag on sessions that don't need it.

That is putting it mildly. My bank wanted me to use it but performance was so terrible I uninstalled it.

My bank nagged me for a few years to reinstall and then seemed to give up.
