I am not sure about this but think I read this somewhere. if it is so, I uninstalled chrome and tried using Edge with Cortana.
The web cam light that worked o well with Chrome now has the light on all the time -it is when Cortana is enabled.
Should it always be on or only when called upon like with Chrome?
I'm wondering where you got this information that the fall update is not going to be compatible with Chrome or FF??? I, Haven't heard this from any of the Insider previewers mentioning this in this or any other forum I participate in?

That would be considered invasion of privacy. I would certainly put a piece of electrical over the camera if it refused to turn OFF.

I just disable the webcam driver and only enable if I need to use Camera app.

This is as close as I can get but cannot remember the site that was more emphatic about installation.

I really depend upon voice t ext so use Chrome a lot. trying to use Cortana and Edge proved to be too much work; I wish I could have gone all Windows but this is much better.

I doubt you will see Chrome/Fire Fox lovers migrating to Edge anytime soon. MS may annoy users with pop ups, but, they can't deny installation of browser of choice. It appears to me that MS are afraid of the market share of Chrome/Fire Fox, both browsers are light years ahead of Edge. My opinion only.

I still wonder why a webcam can't work with Edge but there are so many variables. No big deal.
