Internet browsers all come up with "Can't reach page"

Running Windows 10 Home 64 bit with all updates applied.
Recently I have the issue that none of my web browsers will find any web pages.
When I open Edge, Internet Explorer, Chrome or Firefox they all tell me that they can not find the web address.
In the case of Edge my home page is bing.com and it gives the message "Search for "https://bing.com" on Bing" (I love computers).
Firefox on the other hand just gives me a blank window and never loads anything.
Chrome gives me the message "This site can't be reached".

When I go to a command windows and ping any address I am trying to load it comes back just fine, no dropped packages.

This happened last week but then went away but now it is back.

The last update was KB4100347 applied on 8/23/2018. If you think it would be helpful I can uninstall that update and see if the problem goes away.

Attached is a screen shot of what I get when I open Microsoft Edge

Any and all help is appreciated.

    Hi raygo1975

Run the following four bolded commands. Use a Command Prompt(admin) or Powershell(admin)

Do not key in info in brackets, there for your information.

ipconfig /flushdns (Clear the dns cache)
nbtstat -RR (release and refesh NetBIOS names)
netsh int ip reset (reset ip settings)
netsh winsock reset (Reset Winsock Catalog)

    what caused this to happen?

Hi, I got the same problem, and the fix you provided worked for me too. Thank you.

It just happened again, this was the 2nd time. And it only happened to this computer, my other computers are fine. So, I am wondering why this happened? Is there a virus that caused this? or maybe a website that I visited? How do I prevent this from happening again? Could you shed some lights on this? Thanks in advance.

Last fix was given was to reset my modem using a pin into reset on rear of the modem. This works but it reverts back to old problems. What I have noticed is the network icon says it is connected to the network but Microsoft edge says its not connected to the net work.
It appears the problem is within windows. When I use windows plus shift to get to the startup the windows startup repair cant fix the problems. All the troubleshooters in windows report no problems.
I have visited many sites for fixes but none work.
Is there a windows repair tool for windows 10. Microsoft site says to use troubleshooters which I have done over and over but none fix windows itself.
I have reset windows and the network and windows defaults in security and elsewhere. Yet windows cant repair itself ??

I have had this problem for some time but it comes and goes. For me it affects only one particular online games site where I get messages 'site can't be reached' or 'took to long to respond'. Then some time later, it seems to fix itself.
