Using Windows 10 Mail app but messages show no images just line text

I am using the Windows 10 Mail app to view my e-mail messages. About a month ago I noticed that every time I view my e-mail messages it only shows line text information without any images or graphics. I am using Outlook as my email account and viewing them with the Windows 10 Mail app. If I look at my Outlook account all is well, why does the Mail app do this?

Hi maddmaxx. Welcome to the TenForums @maddmaxx

If you click on Settings (Gear lower left corner when your in mail app), click message list, scroll to bottom, is Image preview turned on?

About a month ago did you make changes, new software, new AV, new / changed something else?

Have a look in Windows update, Start > Settings > Update and Security > Windows Update > "View Update History"

There is also a Windows Store App trouble shooter Start > Settings > Update and security > Troubleshoot > scroll to bottom of right hand hand side > "Windows Store apps"

Finally may be necessary to re-install / re-register your apps.

If you scroll down (in message window), do you see this line (download message and pictures)?

Using Windows 10 Mail app but messages show no images just line text-image.png

Go to settings / reading pane and check the boxes at bottom

    Mail app shows no images

I tried everything all of you said to do but nothing helped. The only thing I haven't done is uninstall and reinstall the Mail app. If I do this will I lose all my account information such as the People list of email contacts?

Try Reset first. Go to Settings / Apps / scroll down to Mail, select it ind click on Advanced options... Then scroll down again and click reset. You shouldn't lose anything.

Thanks but I already did that. I'm concerned about whether I will lose information such as the People list when I uninstall the Mail app and reinstall it.

Think you could. Have no idea, why is happening. Your permissions and defaults are OK?

You can have Security Applications interfering with Emails and stopping images and certain kinds of Email Content.
In that case you need to look at your security Application settings.

May actually be nothing to do with the Mail App.

The contacts in the People App may exist on a servers like an MS Mail Account, that you would have to check on.
Often you can save these as a .CSV file by using the Webmail Access so you have another copy.

    Mail app shows no images

Yes thanks AndreTen and Helmut for your suggestions. AndreTen, everything you said to check is okay, it shows what you showed to check. Helmut your suggestion to look at security Application settings I would try but I really don't know where to look for that on my computer. Could you tell me where I should be looking for this?

    Thanks again for your help
