Thanks for letting us know..
Another update to this last update. There was an update ready to install It was a Quality Update 2018-08 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for X64 - based systems(KB4346783) if this is important to anyone out there. After it updated and I restarted and when I went to check the Mail App everything was perfect. It didn't even show the message to "Download messages and images" at the bottom of the page. Hope everyone out there who has had this problem will check out this update, but I still don't know if this was the true fix.
Great news.
These are very fickle devices. Looking forward to 1809. Got my hard hat at my side.
Just wanted to get back again with this update: The Mail app isn't working again. It's back to the way it was with no graphics or images, just line text messaging. I truly give up with this Mail App Crap! I was in the Mail App reading my mail and everything was fine. I left it to do something else on my computer and when I went back, it was back to the no images and pictures just line messaging.
You would think mail and networking would be bullet proof by now.
Did you happen to check if you got any updates installed just as this happened?
We did get updates, but it only updated as we were about to shutdown. I checked the content or the subject matter of the update and it was all about security issues for some Windows programs. I don't know if that's significant at all. The problem only came back when I went out of Mail and then went back into it. Thanks for getting back to me so quick. I appreciated it.
Well if that is the only thing that changed......
might try removing and seeing impact or like you said .... move on to something that works.
Just wanted to get back to you. I tried uninstalling the Windows Update like you suggested and waited a day to get some new emails but it was the same. I must point out that the problem came back before this update was downloaded but anything was worth a try at this point(maybe MS was sneaking an update in without me noticing it being done). But thanks for your help. I truly believe that there is a bug in the Mail app and once in a while some part of that application drops a bit and screws it up and then it somehow fixes itself with a new bit because there is really no explanation why it works and then it doesn't. Each time that this has happened which has been about 3 times it has fixed itself with me not doing anything different. No new programs, no adjustments of settings in any e-mail programs, no nothing. So I will be using my Outlook account to view my messages and wait for Version 1809.... whenever that will be.
Planned for October 17th if we can believe the blogs.
On my insider machine it says 1809 version 17760.1
of course last week it said 1809 version 17758.1
must be getting close.
