    F1 is Help typically.

    If I press F1 with the desktop in focus, it launches my default browser.

    If you still wish to redefine the key, a small Autohotkey script will do it.
    You will need to install Autohotkey (free).

    (Note, with Autohotkey installed, rt click the AHK file in the rar file, click 'Compile' and you will have an exe file. Then you can just launch that on startup and uninstall Autohotkey if you wish).

    Thank you for your reply.

    It stopped it for me... Make sure it's in your tray, or you could check your task manager for the process.

    Here's the ahk file running:

    Yes- see my specs (My computer under my post).

    Try using a script like this - you should get a response:

    F1::
    MsgBox You pressed F1
    Return

    Scroll down to "Disable the F1 Key : Windows Help and Support"

    Download file or copy code and create .reg file.
