I want to prevent IE from opening from Edge

I'm using Edge at my job location which is running the enterprise version of Windows 10. My Edge homepage is the company's homepage URL. On this page are other intranet URLs. Whenever I click on any of those URLs, IE 11 opens. How can I prevent IE from opening to make the URL pages open in Edge.

    What is the default browser

Start > Settings > Apps > Default Apps

I want to prevent IE from opening from Edge-image.png

Mine is chrome. Click on the browser icon to see your options.

Your organization may force your defaults if you find you can't change and keep the change.

Agree with @Caledon Ken sounds like your company has IE set as the default browser, the IT dept could be unaware some users will try Edge if IE is specified as default. Edge is default included with W10, so no downloads are required to have Edge available. And as you've found, to open any link with Edge you go to IE.

Depending on your position with them, their size, security needs, and how stringent they are concerning what bowser they require to be used on their systems/network you might have to live with it.

My company is on Win7 Pro with IE and Firefox ESR, those are the only two authorized/valid browsers.

You may not be able to open those company Intranet sites in Edge, on if you could the would not work. This is because...
