    Merging Bookmarks from 2 Browsers

    Hi,
I am currently running Firefox (61.0.2) and Vivaldi (Latest Release). Each has accumulated a large number of bookmarks. How could I join all of these bookmarks into 1 file and import them to each browser without getting numerous duplicates?

    Many Thanks

    Vivaldi

Export the bookmarks from one browser. Import in the other. Organize the bookmarks the way you like it. Export to a file. Done.

You can't have your bookmarks organized if you don't organize them once.

I don't have experience with Vivaldi but in Firefox you can open the bookmarks library and copy paste them in Excel. Then use "Remove Duplicates".

That's what I do using Chrome Bookmarks Manager. I compile a master list manually but you can use the sort tools to help resolve duplicates. I then export my bookmarks file to OneDrive so the bookmarks are available for import to any of mt PCs. You can synchronise them in Chrome but I've had a few mishaps using this route.

I know I am new to this , but having problems

In Firefox I go to library, bookmarks, show all bookmarks and then do I do cut and paste of my bookmarks?
When I try to paste this cut & paste into Excel (Office 365), I get a single line of data listing my bookmarks.
Also if this is sorted out and duplicates are removed, what format do I need to save the output so as to re-import it back into Firefox and into Vivaldi?

Thanks for your help so far.

Right click >> "Paste Special..." (as text) instead of "Paste".

Paste the result directly in the Firefox bookmarks library and then export to file (Library >> Import and Backup >> Export Bookmarks to HTML...)

I know I'm a pain but still not quite right

I selected, cut & Paste all my bookmarks from Library, opened Excel with a new book. I then selected paste special, and then was unsure of whether to select text or HTML. If I selected text it gave me the list of bookmark URLs but not the corresponding Names.
    Where am I going wrong?

You could try Bookmark merger. It works with Firefox data, so you'll have to import your bookmarks to FF (deleting previous) and after saving them to the same folder, Bookmark merger will handle them.
