    Rectangular pop-up at bottom of screen is annoying.

    How can I get rid of the long rectangular popup in the middle of the bottom of the screen that says somebody wants to send info but I need to turn my settings on. It shows up on about half of the websites I log in to.

    I do believe that is somewhere in Settings > System > Notifications & actions. Likely the "Get notifications from apps and other senders". That's my best guess anyway.
    Also look in the "Get Notifications from these senders" section. I have tenforums.com in that list.

    How did you add TenForums to the list of "Get Notifications from these senders"? I thought only Apps appear there.

    The reason I ask, is because only Microsoft Apps show in that list. Is there a regedit file adjustment that is needed to add a website to that particular list?

    Trying to remember how that came about? I think I just got an on screen prompt to enable notations from 10 Forums. The message said to go to settings to enable it. forums.pimoroni.com is in the list too, which as another forum I frequent. They both say (via Microsoft Edge) and On: Banners; Sounds. That's about all I can remember. I didn't do any regedit or install any App.

    Everything is turned off that even resembles getting pop-ups and notifications. About half the websites I visit produce a long
    rectangle at the bottom of the screen that says; "bla bla wants to send notifications but you need to turn on your notifications"
    I turned it off because I don't want any...……..annoying.

    Yeah, there was one site Pimoroni I think, where I couldn't enable them on my laptop, like I did on my desktop. I'd click the box you describe, go to settings but no Pimoroni in the list to enable? I have to sit down some time with them side by side and compare settings, laptop versus desktop. I want to enable them to kill the message box, but can't.

    @win10er

    What you're describing sounds a lot like sites trying to ask permission to send you notifications. Not sure what browser you are using, but I am using Firefox and here are the settings to turn that off. My notification requests come at the top-left of the screen, not bottom center. You're browser should have similar settings. Worth a look....

    EDGE, IMHO, is a PITA to find the settings your looking for. For me it is anyway. I'd still be using IE if all the sites I frequent still worked in it.

    EVERYTHING that resembles notifications is turned off and I still get the pop-up at the bottom of the screen. I use the Chrome browser and have been for 10 years. I'm not going change browsers every time something comes up. Ebay wants me to change it too because I constantly have to sign in with them. I like my browser but need the fixes.
    Even this website shows the pop-up, I am looking at the dam thing right now, it says; "www.tenforums.com wants to sent you notifications, but first you need to go to Settings and turn on Notifications". Then there is a box next to it on the right that says SETTINGS that you are supposed to click on that opens your settings page...………….disgusting.

    Click on the green lock icon in the address bar, select "Site settings", scroll down to "Notifications", click on the down arrow at the right and select "Block".
