    Pop up blocker for Chrome - Poper Blocker Re: Firefox

    I use this one (Pop up blocker for Chrome™ - Poper Blocker)
    for Chrome with moderately good results. Kindly suggest recommendations for Firefox.

    Hi, there's one available under Tools, Options, Content. Exceptions supported.

    Thanks. Not home now to look. Is the general consensus that the one supplied with the browser is as good as the third party extensions? If you use FF is that what you use?TIA.

    Never used a specific 3rd party popup blocker. Sometimes they get in the way. Adblock (general ads) is good.

    Considering, that Poper Blocker is now considered unwanted and was removed from Chrome, you can try:

    Popup Blocker (strict)

    I use adblock plus I think it is with Chrome and it does a pretty good job if the number of notices I get from websites asking me to turn it off is any indication : )

    Run the tests here and lest us know which ones (if any) are not passed:

    Test your pop-up killer here! Find out if it your popup blocker stops all popup windows.

    I'm using Vivaldi browser with some cross browser content blocking software plus a few Chrome extensions and it passes every test.

    I've been using Poper Blocker for Firefox for a long time. It's by far the most effective popup blocker that I have ever used.

    The only thing you have to do is to untick "Enable overlay blocking (sends anonymous data to Poper Blocker developers)" in the settings.

    You don't need a popup blocker for Firefox if you configure it properly.

    /* 2212: limit events that can cause a popup
    * default is "change click dblclick mouseup pointerup notificationclick reset submit touchend"
    * [1] Dom.popup allowed events - MozillaZine Knowledge Base ***/
    user_pref("dom.popup_allowed_events", "click dblclick");
    and many other useful settings...

    And by the way, don't use adblock. Use uBlock Origin and uMatrix.
