    Microsoft Edge Backups Not Working??

Edge for some time now has made a daily backup. Mine hasn't made one in the last two days. Even the C:\Users\Clayton\MicrosoftEdgeBackups\backups folder is missing from C:\ Drive.

Anyone else seeing this? Any ideas are appreciated.

    Hello Clayton,

I like to manually export to a HTML file for a backup.

In addition, you could also turn on sync your content/settings in Microsoft Edge to help make sure you don't lose them across all your Windows 10 devices that you sign in to with the same Microsoft account.

As always, I appreciate your input.

The last Edge Backup was made 07/28/2018 at 21:17 local time. I do make the manual backup (export) to the HTML File. I keep it in the same folder as the Edge\backups. That's how I discovered Edge wasn't doing it's backups. Several times a day I run a fairly comprehensive batch file that copies anything (Data, .ini files, Contacts.csv) with the Archive Bit set to TWO WD External Hard Drives.

I don't sync anything I can get out of. I like to think of the two WD External Hard Drives as my own version of "the cloud". I don't have any other devices I use that would benefit from having it in the cloud.

In retrospect, I should have put all this in the original post. It would have saved you from wasting your time. Sorry for that.

    It's no problem.

I noticed mine was last updated yesterday on 7/29/2018.

Yep. That's what it's "supposed" to look like", but …

I've copied the ...\backups folder from my E:\ drive and placed it in here where it;s "supposed" to be:

And it stays there until the next time I open Edge and it's deleted! Gone, like the screen shot above.

Things do go bump in the night.

    Problem Solved!

In a fit of paranoia I'd checked off everything here and had it set to always clear on exit. Resetting back to what's shown solves the issue.

Maybe we've both learned a little something here. Thanks for the time and have a good day.

Interesting. I wouldn't of thought that would have deleted this backup.

"I wouldn't of thought that would have deleted this backup."

It does here. It's reproducible, at least the three times I went through with it. I saves the parent folder but wipes out everything under it. I'm laughing at myself about it. I'm my own worst enemy.
