    Outlook 2016 - Attachment Bug?

    Hello All,
    I am using Outlook 2016 (part of Office 2016). Account type is Imap.
    On receipt of an email with attachment, if I reply to same email the paperclip symbol appears against the 'Sent email' when I did not attach anything?

    To test this I replied to an email with attachment and sent it to myself.
    What I did;
    * I receive an email with an attachment. My Inbox correctly displayed paperclip symbol.
    * I reply to my email account (not forward) to the email. In my sent mail I now see my reply but with paperclip symbol?
    * My Inbox shows the email I sent above and it correctly shows no paperclip?

    I use Outlook 2010 at work and definitely does not show a paperclip symbol against sent emails if I did not attach anything?

    Anybody else seen this? Is this expected behaviour?

    I have had suffered this issue for long. Previously, I thought this was just the Outlook that is causing the issue. Later I tried my account on Thunderbird. While few emails showed the images this time, rest of the attachments remained unexplored. I guess IMAP access is getting few issues. It does not happen to my another account that is accessed by POP server. Update us if you have got a free solution. For, I have to get a third party application to get it solved.

    HI, can you name the application you used for the same? seems your application isn't free. But, does it atleast offer a free try or something?
    I too have tried Outlook and Thunderbird on my mail account. While with the internet on, i find everything normal; turning the internet off, i find all my emails in a broken state. Probably, this was the reason why my exports were without attachments. relying on these as backup could have been a grave mistake.

    Hi Wanda,
    The application I tried is Mail Backup X. Maybe you are getting the right points:

    Mail Backup X tags a "Uncached Data Warning" for emails that had broken attachments. The application also has option to resolve the issue. It has a free trial for first 15 days.
    The direct link for the Windows version of this application: Download Free Trial of Mail Backup X for Mac / Windows
