I have noticed Edge runs whenever I start firefox. I first noticed this when running CCleaner. I can see Edge shutting down as CCleaner finishes. I am wondering if Edge is somehow watching and reporting what I do on Firefox.

- you launch ccleaner
- you launch task manager
- you start ccleaner cleaning and watch the task manager
- you see Edge related processes appearing and closing in the task manager window?
Note: Ccleaner requires FF to be closed to be able to clear certain data.
No, after I start ccleaner, edge pops up out of nowhere, saying it is shutting down. I then do a ctl alt del and see edge running.
The box says Microsoft Edge needs to close to clean the internet cashe. Do you want to close Microsoft Edge? boxes yes or no
The application is taking a long time to close. would you like to force close? boxes yes no cancel

Sorry, I never realized Edge was in task bar. I unpinned it and went away. Thanks anyway
You can have an icon there without any difficulty, but it seems you had Edge running when you started Ccleaner.
