There is no email program associated to perform the requested action.

    Hi folks,

I hope somebody can help me!

I have recently uninstalled Office 2007 as MS has stopped supporting/updating it.

I therefore installed LibreOffice for Word and Excel and use Google Mail for email, as I didn't want to buy another copy of Office.

I am now being plagued by a pop-up message as per above and attachment.

I think it's something to do with Outlook I guess, which was also uninstalled when I removed Office 2007.

    Did something get left behind?

Is there a way to stop this without having to re-install Office 2007?

I am not very tech minded so please be gentle with me :)

    With thanks

Hi, I assume Outlook was your registered default email program.

    You have uninstalled it.

So 'There is no email program....' as the message says.

We don't know what prompts this in your case- there's no evidence.

How do you now wish to handle your email?

This is what the message is pointing you to:

This tutorial explains ways of setting a default program - it applies to both universal apps and downloaded desktop programs.

    Hi dalchina,
    thanks for replying.
I have reset to Microsoft defaults and downloaded thunderbird for email.
I can now change the email button to thunderbird, but now I have another problem, even bigger than the email!
I can’t change the default edge browser back to Firefox!
It seems to be locked on Edge. When I click on the edge button I get the option pop up to change to Firefox but then the control just shuts down.
what is going on with windows?
please help. Is there a solution to this? I don’t really want to reinstall windows!

Use Settings, Defaults or Open With as appropriate to set default progs. I.e. do it as per the tutorials and via Windows settings.
