When I try to open Google Chrome, I get an error message saying "You'll need a new app to open this ms-wpc"
I don't even know how to download whatever that is.

Right click on the Windows key, select Run. Type appwiz.cpl in the box and press Enter. Find Chrome and click once to select it. Up top click on Uninstall. Then go to Google.com\Chrome and download and reinstall, it should straighten up.

Are you logged on as an administrator? When you install, right click and run as Administrator.
