Action Center Notifications does not work for emails.

Hi, I have tried to find help at three other places, but found the Tenforums to try again. My problem isn't that big of a deal, but Notifications doesn't work for my emails. I may get a notification from Windows, Skype, Cortana or Microsoft and whoever. I have tried sfc /scannow, The two DISM.exe commands, a download AppDB Registry for fixing missing notifications to fix something in the registry. All my Actions and Notifications are ticked or slid over to "On" to get notifications and sounds. I have just about exhausted searching the internet for a fix. Notifications used to work about a week ago, but suddenly stopped. Any help for a new idea is greatly appreciated. That's about all I can say at this point. Thanks.

Hi, just to check, is the setting for notifications from apps and other senders correct?

and the per app settings e.g. Here's How section , part3

You mention emails, but then say
Notifications used to work about a week ago, but suddenly stopped
Do you mean all notifications? Or just Mail?

If the former, please try creating a new user for test purposes, and check for notifications.
If that works, it's a user profile setting/configuration/corruption problem rather than Windows per se.

dalchina sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I would always get notifications from Windows, Skype, Cortana, Microsoft and others. I also used to get notifications from email but the email has stopped. All my notifications are turned on. (The ones that need to be) to get notifications and banners and to play sounds. Thanks for your help though. I can live with it the way it is.

    You can try re-registering Mail

dalchina: I did try sending myself a test email from Outlook. No notification. I tried to run two commands in Powershell, but got errors. I tried Mail and Calendar, but still got an error. I really don't know. I think I'm ready to call it quits. I can live with it. Like things to work, but maybe it wasn't meant to be. Anyway thanks for your help and all.

    - did you remember to run as admin as it says in the instructions?

dalchina: I ran PowerShell as administrator but got many errors still; Exception, fully qualified error id, deployment failed with hresult. I don't know what those mean. Maybe you do. There were even more errors than I put down here.

    1. Do you have a System Restore Point you can use, created before these problems started?
Notifications used to work about a week ago, but suddenly stopped.
System Restore will only be available if you enabled it after any last build upgrade.

Do you know what happened 'about a week ago' that may have led to this- any major change?

    2. Please post a screenshot of your Update History, showing updates from at least 10 days ago.
What is your Windows build? Windows key + R, winver

    3. Again:
Try creating a new user for test purposes, and check for notifications.
If that works, it's a user profile setting/configuration/corruption problem rather than Windows per se.

    4. Basics: Please check your disk.
    E.g. HD Tune
    Health tab and Error Scan.

I did a System Restore, but had a problem. After it finished half of my desktop was gone. I then proceeded to undo it. But after the undo I still had the same problem. About half of my desktop was gone and some other files were nothing than empty pieces of paper looking files. I mean the files were empty. So I had to redo those also. Yes I should have left it back at June 23rd, but I guess I panicked and wanted my desktop back which didn't happen either after the undo. So unless I try it again, we'll never know if it would have worked. I don't know what happened for it to lose notifications.

About the Update History, there was no problem with updating. All Updates went well. I can't post a screen shot because the files were in bmp format. You will just have to trust me on the Updates.

Windows build: Version 1803; OS Build 17134.112

I ran Chkdsk to check for errors. No errors to report.

And again, no notifications when testing email from another user profile.
